Connecting from dormitories and from public ports

Mac Os 10.3.4-x


Notes:

warning
  • If you had ilconnect installed for system 10.2.x (Jaguar), download it and uninstall it before proceeding.
  • If your system version is a prior version of 10.3.4 (10.3 to 10.3.3), you should first upgrade: Go to Apple->Software upgrade, mark Mac Os Update, and click Install.

Step

 

  • Go to Apple-->System Preferences. Double Click the Network icon.

Step

 

  • Go to the Location pop-up menu, and choose New Locations...


Step

 

  • Type a name for the new location. For example: public.
  • Click ok.

  • Click Apply Now, Close the window.

Step

 

  • Go to your application folder and double click Internet Connect.

  • Click the VPN icon.

Step

 

  • Mark the PPTP option, and click Continue.

Step

 

  • Mark the option: Show VPN status in menu bar

  • Go to the Configurations pop-up menu, and choose: Edit Configurations...


Step

  • Description: Type public

  • Server Address: Fill in the IP address according to the campus you are connecting from:
    1. Ein-Karem: 10.3.0.1
    2. Givat-Ram: 10.1.0.1
    3. Mt. Scopus: 10.2.0.1
    4. Rehovot: 10.4.0.1

  • Account Name: Fill in your username in the following format: username%ra
  • Choose None under Encryption.

  • Click ok and close the window.

Step

 

  • In order to connect and disconnect, click the icon that appears on the right top side of your display. Or open the Internet Connect application.
