Updating Definitions Manually

Step

  • Double click Virex from your Applications folder.

Step

eUpdate automatically checks weekly for new updates when there is an Internet connection. You can also activate it manually:
  • Click the eUpdate tab.

  • Click Start.


alert In case you don't manage to upodate definitions via eUpdate, download and run the DAT file from McAfee's site:
http://www.mcafee.com/apps/downloads/security_updates/virex.asp

Starting a Manual Scan

Step

  • Double click Virex 7 from your Application folder.

Step

  • Double click Scan & Clean

  • Click on the text: Drop items or click here.

Step

 

  • This window will appear on the right side of the previous window.

  • Choose your hard disk, usually named Macintosh HD, from the left pane of the window.

  • Click Select Location.

    You can also choose a specific file or folder instead to be checked.

Step

 

  • Click Start.

Viewing Log

Step

  • Double click Virex from your Applications folder.

Step

 

  • Click on File from Virex's main menu.

  • Click View Log
